SEATTLE – A U.S. military contractor has fired a 50-year-old cargo worker and her husband after a photo she took of 20 flag-draped soldiers’ coffins appeared on the front page of her hometown newspaper.
Tami Silicio and her husband David Landry lost their jobs with Maytag Aircraft Corp. on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for Maytag said Silicio’s action broke company rules.
It also violated a federal government policy that prohibits publishing images of military coffins.
