Ohio Priest Charged in Nun’s 1980 Killing
TOLEDO, Ohio (April 24) – A Roman Catholic priest was charged in the 1980 strangling and stabbing of a nun whose body was found in a hospital chapel.
On Friday, police arrested the Rev. Gerald Robinson, who performed the funeral for the 71-year-old nun.
“New technology” led them back to Robinson, 66, who was charged with murder. Robinson and Sister Margaret Ann Pahl worked together at Mercy Hospital, where he was chaplain.
Pahl was strangled and stabbed about 30 times on April 5, 1980. Her body was found surrounded by lit candles with her arms folded across her chest in the chapel, where she was the caretaker.

Worker fired over photo of U.S. soldiers’ coffins

SEATTLE – A U.S. military contractor has fired a 50-year-old cargo worker and her husband after a photo she took of 20 flag-draped soldiers’ coffins appeared on the front page of her hometown newspaper. Tami Silicio and her husband David Landry lost their jobs with Maytag Aircraft Corp. on Wednesday. A spokesperson for Maytag said Silicio’s action broke company rules. It also violated a federal government policy that prohibits publishing images of military coffins.

LONDON (Reuters) – Political correctness has claimed a new victim as a leading British theater group brings down the curtain on the traditional thespian greeting “darling” because it could be deemed sexual harassment.
The English National Opera said on Thursday new guidelines to staff on appropriate behavior pointed out that use of the term could be offensive.
“The wording of the document says the use of affectionate names such as ‘darling’ may also constitute sexual harassment,” said a spokesman.

The son of Christian activist Randall Terry, known for his strident opposition to abortion and homosexuality, says he is gay.
In an article in the May issue of Out magazine Jamiel Terry, 24, says he first realized he was gay when a male friend with whom he’d been intimate asked if they were gay or bisexual.
“I didn’t know how to respond,” he writes. “I mean, we had been having sex for ages, but I’d always believed I couldn’t be gay:”
Randall Terry published his own essay, “My prodigal son, the homosexual,” writing his son “sold out our family’s privacy and private discussions for cold cash.”
Jamiel Terry is the son of a woman whom the elder Terry talked out of having an abortion.
