  Doctors Can't Put Their Finger on Missing Tip

  
  

  DUBLIN (Reuters) - Irish hospital staff are hunting for a fingertip that disappeared hours before it was due to be sewn on to a man's finger.
  

  
  

  
  
  
  
  
  

  The man lost the top of his right middle finger when it became trapped in a door. He was rushed to his local hospital who transferred him to a bigger hospital in Galway.
  

  
  

  The fingertip accompanied him in an ice bag.
  

  
  

  "That bag was on the trolley beside me but I don't know what happened to it after that."
