The planets are aligned. Mulberries are ripe and ice cream is on sale at 99 cents per half gallon. I plan to subsist on mulberry sundaes for the next week. And wash them down with mulberry shakes.

My grandparents gave me a taste for mulberries, which don't seem to be popular anymore. There are at least four mulberry trees in my neighborhood that go unharvested. Slightly green (actually pink) mulberries are good to munch on too. They taste like cantaloupe.

The birds leave little purple indicators to tell us when mulberries ripen.

  • All around the mulberry bush the monkey chased the weasel! The monkey thought it was all in fun! POP! goes the weasel!!

  • No need to explain yourself.  If that's what you think, then, that's what you think, right?  You shouldn't need to explain for that.  I've an open mind.

And about them mulberries.  They good?  I haven't had the chance to sample any in my life, so I'm just wondering.  I'm open to anything new.  I'll try anything once.  Twice if I don't think I did it right.

  • Gah.  I'm a 20 year old going on 40.  I can't help it sometimes.  =))

  • i hate those damn purple indicators they end up being everywhere.  but i think someone cut down our mulberry tree a year ago cause i don't see those indicators anymore.

  • ROFLMAO!!!  I can't wait to see SimonTemplar's response to that ~ *howls with laughter*

We used to have two mulberry trees in our garden in Brisbane.. they were goooorgeous.  We'd feed the leaves to our silkworms, and make ourselves sick on the fruit   They stain clothes so badly.. but the old "rub a white mulberry on the stain" trick would work   Mmmmm ~ mulberries and icecream... now you're making me nostalgic (And hungry..)

  • If you take them off the ground, be sure not to confuse purple indicators for mulberries.

  • I'm a little slow tonight -took me about 30 seconds to clue in to what you might by "purple indicators". I don't believe I've had the pleasure of trying mulberries. Hmmm..I wonder if those would make my neck bubbly. So far, blueberries are the only berry I've tried that I'm not allergic to, but I can eat cantaloupe, so you never know..Gotta find me some mulberries...

  • yum purple indicators. In relation to eprops i tend to always give two because thats what the defalt is. I'm just lazy.

  • I have never had a single mulberry in my whole entire life..

    ARGH
