STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) - A Georgia couple who had a dispute over a theological point after watching The Passion of the Christ were arrested when the argument turned violent.

The two left a movie theatre debating whether God the Father in the Holy Trinity was human or symbolic and the argument heated up when they arrived home.

Melissa Davidson, 34, and her husband, Sean, 33, were charged with simple battery after the two called police on each other.

A police report said Melissa Davidson had injuries on her arm and face, while her husband had a scissors stab wound on his hand and his shirt was ripped off. He also allegedly punched a hole in a wall.

  • Ah, good old religion.

Remember when it'd cause whole wars? Oh wait, it still does.

  • God 1, Sinners 1

  • Freakin zealots!  Everything in moderation, I say....and this type of thing could be avoided  Is ridiculous to fight over this kind of stuff.

  • That's more like it. That is what makes America great. You go to a theater thinking your going to get to see a wonderful film about the murder of Our Lord, and then you get to see some woman stab her husband in the hand with scissors. God Bless America (and it's colonies)
