Civic boosters here sponsor an annual Fourth of July celebration organized around some theme denoting American liberty. Downtown shoppers can vote on the theme, which band they'd like to hear, etc.
This year's winning theme, a write-in entry, was rejected. It was "Fuck helmet laws."

I've never read The Tell Tale Heart, but I know what its about, kindof. Its the one where a guy kills someone then burrys him under the floor, but he can still heart the heartbeat and ends up giving himself up to the police becaue of it...or something similar...right
The JTHM comics may have been inspired by it...or something. I just know that Nny always kills people and paints the wall with their blood to keep the monster on the other side from breaking through.
My little tale actually happened in the comic, more or less, I just put it into fiction wording as opposed to comic stripy style.

I think that they should have just chosen "Fuck You" for the theme, think how liberating!

I don't know why we don't just go back to the original Don't Tread On Me flag. It was ever so much more in the American spirit than all of this stars and stripes nonsense...
